Genus - Athyrium
Athyrium is also called Lady Fern. The word Athyrium is derived from the Greek "a" meaning without, and "thureos" meaning shield. Without shield refers to the spore producing dots on the undersides of the leaves called sorus not having a covering.
Culture - Athyrium grow best in shade. Even moisture to slightly dry once established is best. Fertilize very sparingly. As with most ferns this one is very deer resistant.
